Ami represents an avant-garde rug collection born from the creative minds of Hong Kong architects and interior designers Ed Ng and Terence Ngan, co-founders of AB Concept. Designed with a focus on comfort, Ami encapsulates heritage and landscape inspiration, intertwining wool and traditional knitting patterns reminiscent of Ed's grandmother.
Through experimentation with diverse needlepoint accent techniques that mimic the art of knitting, Ami celebrates the artistry of handcrafted rugs that embody a unique blend of elegance, comfort, and innovation.

An, meaning calm, is crafted in burnt orange colour in rectangular shape, akin to intricately knitted sweaters embody the unique needlepoint technique. The piece offers serene experiences, allowing people to feel deep comfort through simple touches.

The name Ami is woven from warmth and love, reminiscent of hands crafting a delicate knit. In Japanese, Ami means "weave," derived from the term Amimono (編み物), embodying the essence of creation through patience and passion.

Réputés pour leur style sensuel, leur utilisation architecturale de l'espace et leurs détails méticuleux, Ed Ng et Terence Ngan s'inspirent d'un large éventail d'influences culturelles pour créer des intérieurs exceptionnels et narratifs pour certains des plus beaux hôtels, restaurants, clubs et résidences privées du monde. Pour sa capsule de quatre tapis de couture, Ed et Terence - qui aiment tant raconter des histoires - ont trouvé leur inspiration en haut, en regardant le monde depuis le ciel. Il était tout naturel de nommer cet ensemble de dessins Nephele, d'après la nymphe grecque née d'un nuage et de Zeus.

Dans leur dernière collection, Ami, Ed Ng et Terence Ngan rendent hommage aux techniques traditionnelles de tricot, s’inspirant à la fois du patrimoine et des paysages naturels du Japon. Ancrée dans le savoir-faire intemporel transmis par la grand-mère d’Ed, Ami entrelace des motifs de tricot élaborés avec une sensibilité contemporaine, donnant naissance à une collection qui fait le lien entre artisanat et modernité.
